Only eating during the day may add years to your life

Researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center say only eating during the day may add years to your life. Having meals during the day and reducing the intake of fatty and sugar foods increased the longevity of mice by 35%. The researchers also discovered that a reduced-calorie diet extended the lifespan of mice by 10%. There was no difference between the weight of mice on a calorie-restricted diet and those who could eat as much as they wanted. Lead author Professor Joseph Takahashi says this study helps to untangle the controversy surrounding intermittent fasting. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine also says that the new diet trend can add years to your life.
