75% Of People Are Lacking In These Key Nutrients

The majority of the global population lacks adequate intake of several crucial nutrients. A Harvard study analyzed dietary data from 185 countries and found that over 5 billion people don’t get enough iodine, calcium, or vitamin E. In addition, nearly 5 million people are deficient in iron, which is alarming as it’s the most common cause of anemia. The study also revealed that women on average had lower intakes of iodine, vitamin B12, and iron than men. Men were more likely to consume lower levels of magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin A, thiamin, and vitamin B6. These deficiencies can lead to several health problems. For example, iodine is vital for brain development and thyroid function. Vitamin E is crucial for protecting cells from damage, whereas iron is essential for hemoglobin production, the protein that carries oxygen in the body.
